Ghana great Michael Essien to play for Chelsea Legends against Bayern Munich in charity match

Ghana great, Michael Essien will be part of the Chelsea Legends that will take on Bayern Munich Legends later this year in September in a charity match.

The match will be played on September 9, at Stamford Bridge in England which serves as the home ground for the Blues.

Advertising the match in a post on Twitter, Michael Essien said the match will help raise funds for charity in tribute to the late Gianluca Vialli.

“Chelsea FC Legends of Europe will see Chelsea take on FC Bayern at Stamford Bridge!

“Tickets are on sale now with proceeds going to the clubs’ foundations and the Royal Marsden in tribute to Gianluca Vialli,” Michael Essien shared on Twitter.

In the past, Michael Essien has been involved in similar charity matches for Chelsea.

He spent the best years of his life at the club where he won a number of trophies including the team’s first-ever Uefa Champions League title.
