Springbok captain Eben Etzebeth is believed to have decided to face the All Blacks despite the death of his father earlier in the week.

Etzebeth was named captain but suffered the dreadful loss while abroad.

Springbok coach Jacques Nienaber has revealed that three potential goal-kickers are in the Rugby Championship starting lineup.

There have been concerns over the role after the Springboks struggles last November when Damian Willemse was asked to be the primary kicker.

When will the Springboks Rugby World Cup squad be announced

The Springboks’ preparations for the 2023 World Cup are well underway, and they have already got their Test season off to a perfect start after claiming a resounding win over Australia last weekend.

It’s now been confirmed that the final squad will be announced on Tuesday, 8 August at a special event taking place from 14:00 – 16:00.
