Vin Diesel’s Fast X Muscle Car Return Teased In New Image
Vin Diesel teases the return of an iconic Dominic Toretto muscle car in Fast X after it was last seen in Fast & Furious in 2009. From its humble beginnings in 2001, the Fast & Furious franchise now consists of 9 successful installments, including a spin-off.
Although last year’s F9: The Fast Saga earned mostly negative reviews from critics, the film was a financial success, earning over $726 million worldwide.
Not long after its release, it was announced that Diesel and his crew would return for two final installments, the first of which, Fast X, is set to release next spring.
Little is known about the plot of Fast X, but the project boasts the most impressive cast of the franchise so far. In addition to returning stars like Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Jordana Brewster, and Sung Kang,
Fast X also features newcomers like Brie Larson, Jason Momoa, Michael Rooker, Daniela Melchior, and Alan Ritchson. Photos and videos from behind the scenes have already teased some of what’s to come in Fast X, including teases of the movie’s vehicles, stunts, and new characters.

In a new Instagram post, Vin Diesel shares a look at Dominic Toretto’s muscle car in Fast X, which appears to be the same model his character drove in 2009’s Fast & Furious and very briefly in 2001’s The Fast and the Furious.
Although much of the vehicle is covered, it seems to be a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, which Diesel teases has a very “special story” behind it. Check out Diesel’s post below:
What Dominic Toretto’s Returning Muscle Car Could Mean For Fast X
It should be noted that the car in Diesel’s Instagram post is almost certainly not the exact same one he drove in The Fast and the Furious and Fast & Furious since that car exploded during the latter movie’s exciting climax.
The inclusion of the vehicle does, however, suggest that Fast X could be revisiting past elements of the franchise. With the upcoming film confirmed to be the penultimate installment, it’s possible that the Chevelle’s inclusion could be part of an attempt to bring things full circle for Dom and the rest of his driving crew.
After saving the world on multiple occasions, it remains to be seen what threat Dom will face in Fast X. Although the franchise continues to get bigger and more ridiculous with each new installment,
the movies do often harken back to the past and the way the characters’ experiences have brought them all closer together and made them a family.
It’s unclear how prominently the Chevelle will feature in Dom’s journey in Fast X, but Diesel’s tease that there’s more to the vehicle than meets the eye certainly suggests that it could somehow connect the new movie to past events.
